CAR ACCIDENTS

Seek Medical Care:

If you are severely injured, seek medical care immediately after the accident. Do not refuse care if emergency medical personnel are on the scene. If no medical personnel are present, seek medical attention as soon as possible. A hospital visit is not always necessary, but be aware that some injuries may not become apparent until hours or days later. If you experience pain days after the accident, it’s still important to seek medical attention. Contact The Warrior, who can connect you with the appropriate medical provider right away.

Gather Witness Information:

Obtain the names and contact information of all drivers and witnesses to the accident. Also, collect the automobile insurance information for all drivers involved. Be prepared for the third-party insurance company to potentially deny liability; having witness information could be crucial for a settlement.

Comply with Law Enforcement:

When law enforcement arrives at the scene, follow their instructions and provide only the facts. Do not speculate or embellish your answers. Request a copy of the officer’s report for your records, and ensure that a crash report is created, as this will help establish third-party liability.

Take Photographic Evidence:

If possible, take pictures of your injuries, the accident scene, and the vehicles involved. This evidence can be critical in proving liability and damages for your personal injury claim.

Do Not Speak with Your Insurance Company:

Avoid speaking directly with the insurance company representatives. If they contact you for a statement or any other reason, refer them to your attorney. Never give a recorded statement without first consulting your attorney.

Stay Off Social Media:

Posts or comments on social media can be used as evidence against you by insurance companies. It's best to avoid social media entirely until your claim is resolved.

Do Not Admit Liability:

Never admit fault at any point after the accident. Admitting liability can severely damage your personal injury claim.
